Health Checkup Programs

Diseases can really be eliminated through early diagnosis or good treatment. However, it is only prevention that can eliminate diseases. We firmly believe that everyone is entitled to a long and disease free life. With this view in mind, we have come up with health check-up programs that will be useful for everyone.

If people are constantly falling off a cliff, you could place ambulances under the cliff or build a fence on the top of the cliff, instead of placing numerous ambulances under the cliff. But in reality what we need to do, is to fence the cliff. That’s prevention and that’s what we need to do.

Every individual is different; everyone has a different set of genes, different lifestyles and hence different risk factors for different diseases. To make our program crisp, we have come up with different preventive programs for different groups of people. We include only those checkups which are relevant only for that population. It will be unnecessary and expensive to include tests that are not relevant. Hence, we have different check-up programs for women, the elderly, smokers, diabetics and for hypertensives. For those who don’t want to leave anything to chance, we have an all inclusive check up plan.

Usually, prevention is mentioned only for heart diseases. However, prevention is very broad. It is of no use that you prevent a heart attack but succumb to a fracture from osteoporosis or to cancer. Though heart disease causes sudden death and the incidence is increasing, it is also important to prevent diseases that can make you bedridden or which can incur expensive treatments. Hence, we have included advanced diagnostic tests that reduce suffering and mortality from other common preventable diseases. Again, it is not only about numbers of tests in each program, but the reason they are included – it is backed by solid medical evidence pertaining to its usefulness in prevention. Hence, each test done has a reason behind it.

There are many hospitals and units in the city which conduct health check up programs. However, none of those have as relevant investigations as we provide. Bone densitometry test and 24 hour blood pressure monitoring tests are just a few examples.

As far as the costs are concerned, we just think it’s just an ounce for a few hundred rupees versus everything that you own. Who wants to risk that? The choices are limited. It is either being healthy or suffering or dying from the disease. This justification is good enough for undergoing a preventive check up and that’s about it.

Our Health Checkup Programs

Health Checkups for Diabetics Diabetes is a strong risk factor for future cardiovascular events such as heart attack, stroke and kidney failure and vision disturbances. Exact treatment can be instituted if the exact risk can be calculated by some specific parameters which are derived from world-famous studies such as the Framingham Heart Study. It is also important to check the possibility of early complications arising from long-standing diabetes. Hence, kidney function tests, complete heart check-up and eye check-ups are included.

  • Full clinical examination by the cardiologist
  • Lipid Profile
  • Blood Sugar
  • 2D Echocardiography & colour Doppler
  • Treadmill Test
  • Kidney Function-Creatinine, urea, urine routine, urine analysis
  • HbA1c
  • X-Ray Chest [Digital X-ray Machine]
  • Hemogram
  • Eye Fundoscopy
  • DEXA Scan

Health Check-ups for Hypertensives. Hypertension is a strong risk factor for future cardiovascular events such as Heart Attack and Stroke, Kidney failure and disturbances. Exact treatment can be instituted if the exact risk can be calculated. The risk is calculated by some specific parameters which are derived from famous studies such as the Framingham Heart Study. Many times, patients are wrongly diagnosed as hypertensives based on BP readings in clinics. The blood pressure may rise due to anxiety or fear of meeting the doctor. These patients will have normal BP readings at other times. Hence, they may get unnecessary medications and can incur unwanted costs. Ambulatory blood pressure recording (ABPM) differentiates these patients from true hypertensive. Also, a repeat ABPM reading after 3-6 months judges the adequacy of response to antihypertensive medications.

It is also important to check the possible early complications arising from long-standing hypertension. For this kidney function, complete heart checks up and eye checks up are done.

  • Lipid Profile
  • Blood Sugar
  • 2D Echocardiography & colour Doppler
  • Treadmill Test
  • Kidney Function-Creatinine, urea, urine analysis
  • 24-hour ambulatory BP recording
  • X-ray chest
  • Hemogram
  • Eye Fundoscopy
  • Examination by cardiologist

Health Checkup for WomenThis is a check-up for women of all common possible ailments, and especially those ageing. The risk of heart disease is checked, so also problems in liver, lung, and kidneys. However, unlike programs available at others, it also checks for diseases specific for women. Examination of pap smear has been shown to identify women who may develop cervical cancer. Postmenopausal women are 9 times more likely to get fractures of hip or spine. Once they get fractures, women lose their independence and mobility is severely hampered. Bone mineral density measures accurately, predicts the risk of impending fractures and preventive measures can be instituted in time. Clinical examination will check for any obvious abnormalities. Breast examination by an expert female Surgeon will identify women who may be referred further for mammography.

  • Hemogram
  • Lipid Profile
  • Kidney Function-Creatinine, urea, urine routine, urine analysis
  • Blood Sugar
  • Stool routine and occult blood
  • Liver function- SGPT, bilirubin, alkaline phosphatase
  • 2D Echocardiography & colour Doppler
  • Treadmill Test
  • Pap smear
  • X-ray chest
  • Bone Density Measurement
  • USG
  • Examination by Cardiologist & Surgeon

Health Checkup for elderly (>60 years) Different age groups have different problems. Advancing age is associated with a certain set of problems. Apart from an incidence of cardiovascular diseases such as hypertension, stroke and heart attacks, certain diseases occur specifically in senior citizens. Elders have an increased risk of cancers. Some common cancers include that of intestines, prostate and lungs. These will be checked by USG, stool occult blood and PSA and X-Ray chest. Immobility because of osteoarthritis is common. X-ray of knees will check for osteoarthritis of knees.

Bones become brittle with advancing age and small falls can lead to life-threatening fractures. These can be prevented by early detection and treatment of osteoporosis. Bone mineral density testing by DEXA scan identifies patients at risk of fractures. No other program in Nashik offers this benefit.

Health Checkups for any two people are not the same. Each has a different set of genes and different predispositions. Hence we have a separate check-up for each set of patients. However, those who don’t want to leave anything to chance can do this profile. It checks all the systems which are advised by most of the world authority bodies.
